Hello All
Where can I get a simplified summary of the most popular Conventions/ Gadgets used for the various popular systems ... along the lines of:-
System Convention Gadget Remarks
Acol
SAYC
2/1
non natural?
Are conventions/ gadgets more suited to a specific system or can they/ need to be modified to suit other systems?
I am aware of Ron Klinger's Flippers

John

I'm going to throw out a quick suggestion.
I can't emphasize this point enough.
An arbitrary collection of conventions that you slap together is no substitute for a well designed system.
Systems need to be designed and built from the ground up, starting with first principles. Simply deciding to graft - I don't know - Bergen raises onto an Acol framework is going to create ripples all through the system.
I think that it is much better to start by learning a system in depth and then decide whether you might want to consider modification.
There are good Acol references available. If you feel that you have exhausted "standard" versions of the system, you might want to consider a more extreme variant like Klinger's Power Acol. Alternatively, you might want to learn another complete system like SWAN.
But I can't think of much worse than learning a random hodge-podge of conventions and expecting to efficiently graft them onto Acol [or SAYC or whatever]
