Here is a suggestion. I frequently jump to a chat room to discuss bidding with a partner/potential partner. It would be nice if we could "LOAD" a convention card while in teh chat room... Make changes as we discuss, save the card and load it again so we can both see it.

What I end up doing is jumping to a teaching table. Loading a common card, letting partner copy it, then jump back to chat, and hope we both modify the card the same way in the chat room.

I realize this isn't a large problem for the vast majority of BBO players who apparently have no clue that a convention card utility exist...but if it is a simple matter to activate the convention card in chat room it would be a big help.

Right Ben - it is not a big problem. You have several options to do what you intend to do - I think using a normal table - maybe invisible for not being disturbed - will solve your problems without software modifications. I know you are using Messenger - features there for whiteboard and application-sharing will be relevant too. I think we ought to wait till format and performance of convention cards will be scheduled for software revision.

A point is - you cannot load a convention card to a table in teaching mode. As you may have noticed that feature is a part of my list of proposals for software modifications aimed to enhance private clubs and tournaments.

I like to be informed that good players now will be ready to play according to convention cards. Some may have wondered why those knowing about standard bridge rules constantly get away ignoring them. -At least I have wondered for years now.

NB! I really liked to see that both sides in last weeks think-session in B/I Lounge played according to convention cards. Very encouraging.

The disadvantage at tables is the text is only one half line then it gets broken, while in chat room, you text looks better, and takes up whole page. I don't use instant message system with white board or otherwise. So I will have to do this within the context of bbo software.

A point is - you cannot load a convention card to a table in teaching mode. I can load conventions cards to teaching tables and do it all the time. Some one has to be in both seats before you can load a card.
