Idea:
Add a checkbox option to the table settings labeled "players must accept their pds" so when a new player wants to seat south -for example- at the table if there's no player in north the player must be accepted by the host but if there's a player in north and this new option is checked then the player must be accepted by north and not by the host.
This can relief the host from the task of making partnerships and might eventually make partnerships last longer since you won't be playing with a pd choosen by the host but by you.

Basically

If permission requiered to play
then
if player has a pd and table option set to rely acceptance to players
then
ask player already seated to accept pd
else
ask host for permission
else
allow player to seat
end

This may have derivations and improvements as an idea... what do you think?

I already made this suggestion a couple days ago. Mine was
slightly different though. It went as follows:

if (host requires permission to play) {
if (person waiting on partner requires permission to partner) {
ask host and player for permission
}
else {
ask host for permission
}
}
else {
if (person waiting on partner requires permission to partner) {
ask player for permission
}
else {
allow player to sit
}
}

I don't think that the host should explicitly have to say that the
acceptance should be relayed to the player. For that to be useful,
the host would have to ask the player whether they are picky or
not. I think it is easiest if each player can indicate whether they
are picky or not. Perhaps some automation could be added like
accepting or rejecting people based on their stated level but that
is something for the future I think.

If a player refuses to accept any of the potential partners then the
host can always kick them and get somebody who isn't so picky.
