The bidding goes:
1 - 2
2 - 3
3 - 3NT
4 - 4
pass

3 was 4th suit.
RHO showed 6-5-.

You decided to keep quiet with:
Scoring: IMP

What do you lead, and why?

I would try the ace of clubs. Trump is possible but too dangerous for many reasons (my spade and diamond holdings most notably). No other lead makes any sense to me.

  • Interests:My personal interests are my family and my friends. I am extremely concerned about the lives and futures of the kids (and their families) that I work with. I care about the friends I have made on BBO. Also, I am extremely concerned about the environment/ ecology/ wildlife/ the little planet that we call Earth. How much more of the world's habitat and food supply for animals do we plan on destroying. How many more wetlands are we going to drain, fill, and build on? How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

Ace of clubs
bidding is interesting. rho couldn't rebid 2NT (forcing) over 2H, but under pressure of the 3S bid muttered 3NT. Sounds something like Txx or xxxx or similar ilk.
however, the real question then becomes how much do you trust the opps bidding? Always a dangerous adventure. But, if I have a good P, then I lead the ace of crubs (if this is my choice then it just has to be incorrect)

:D RHO has only two minor suit cards. I got the ace of one of them (I hope). I'm gonna grab it (if its there) before it goes away. IMO all other leads ZERO.

Club Ace. Forcing game is most likely to cause a headache even with the favorable 3/2 spade split.

I've led the Q in cases like this a few times. Usually declarer ducks and we can efficiently get the tap started.

Might as well take our only likely minor suit trick -- A -- hopefully will yield two tricks and declarer will misguess ...

For those who wonder about opponent's skills: you're playing in the highest league of your country, playoffs for 3rd and 4th place :D

A, its hardly wrong to cash your aces against a 6-5 (when it cashes at least)
