1♦ with such a difference in suit quality. On Hannie's counterexample hand I would open 1♥ also.

I have little experience with light 2/1s except in light opening systems (i.e. then my opening would show 9 - 13 or so and I can reverse on this)
Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do!

with this following hand i prefer to open 1♦:

The reason is offensive , focus on length.But i will open 1♥ with a defensive 6-5 hand.
