4H, nothing to cheer about,
but the advantage with 4H is,
that I will not think a 2nd time
what to bid.

If I pass now then I will likely pass for the rest of the auction. I'd rather open 1H, even though I don't like the hand.

I don't follow this logic. Why does pass prevent a future bid?

P-1S-P-1N
2H

P-1S-P-2C
2H

P-1S-P-2S
3H

Doesn't partner have a better idea now of my hand? Isn't the object of bidding to share information with partner instead of making unilateral decisions? I may well pass too if the auction is:

P-1S-P-3S

or

P-1N-P-3N

But to say it's bid now or never seems illogical to me. Maybe I am adopted, after all....keep wanting to hum God Save the Queen. :D

well i voted 3, but can see why a lot of you voted 1... it's a 7 loser hand, even with the kings

I think it rates for a 3 bid, would open 1 only if the opponents are weak.

White vs. white the "best" bid is 1. Not a very nice one, but I do not have problems with rebidding, have some defense and 7 losers.
White vs. red I'd open 4: I wonder who has the
In the poll, I voted 4 :)

I disagree with 1 being a good bid. You don't have anything!

The ideal bid would be a Fantunes 2 or a Weak Opening System 1, but we don't have that.
I'll Pass and then bid 3 on my next turn.

3 most of the time, pass some of the others.
Never ever 1. Pd might actually think you have something.
You might as well cross away the K and your Qx ain't looking all that hot either.
Even though Zar says to open this 1, I will still refuse.
