We are pleased to announce the availability of the first version of the BBO mobile app. The app is now available (for free) in both the Apple and Android app stores.

The initial version of the BBO mobile app is rather limited in terms of functionality - you can play anonymously against robots or kibitz anonymously at a list of selected tables (voice commentary works at vugraph tables).

It is likely that we will aggressively move forward in terms of introducing new versions with additional functionality in the months to come (log in with your BBO user ID, view friends list, chat, play in Main Bridge Club, tournaments, ...).

While the app seems to work on iPhones as well as on many Android phones, the size of the screens of such devices are obviously small which makes it very challenging to create an effective user interface for a game like bridge that requires a lot of screen elements. Hopefully we will be able to make improvements for small screen devices in future versions, but your experiences with our mobile app will certainly continue to be more enjoyable if you use a tablet (like the iPad) instead of a phone.
